Retsina

Retsina is a traditional Greek wine. It is a special style with the addition of Aleppo pine resin. Modern and super-quality vintages such as Tear of the Pine from Kechris Winery are fantastic and breathtaking. It is a shame for many wine lovers that they give a bad image, which with retsina stretches back to the second half of the 20th century.
Most wine lovers do not consider retsina a legitimate wine. Even admirers of Greek wines consider retsina to be completely inappropriate and even potentially dangerous to the world of wine. But that’s not true. It should be noted that lovers of wines aged in oak barrels usually also like retsina. Like Fino Sherry, the first sip of retsina shocks, but after a certain time a wonderful spectrum of new aromas and flavors of the wine opens up to the consumer. Retsina is an incredibly versatile gastro-wine suitable for complementing a wide range of dishes.
